Crazy Fun In New Brunswick

Hubby and I spent a week with our friends Brent and Joy and their family in their beautiful home in Fredericton New Brunswick!  Brent and Joy were one of the first people we met when we moved to Kitchener.  They knew we were new to the area and hadn't had the opportunity to connect with many people so they took us under their wing and made us feel very welcome.  Over the years we became great friends and considered them like family.  We were so fortunate to have them in our lives I'm not sure we would have adjusted to the move so well without their help and friendship.

A few years ago Brent started thinking about a career change and they were considering a move but they weren't sure where.  Originally, the news of them leaving was difficult, we felt like we were going to lose some very dear friends.  Months went by and we still hadn't heard any concrete plans for a move, there were some opportunity for them to move within the province and then there were plans for them to move out of the province but nothing seemed to be right.  Time went by with no news but then we got together and heard that Brent got an opportunity in Fredericton and he had accepted the opporunity.  We had some mixed emotions I know that's a bit selfish but it's the truth!  Over time we realized that regardless of where our friends are they would still be part of our lives.

Brent Joy and their family moved to Fredericton just about a year ago and since the move we sadly didn't have much contact.  They were busy moving, getting settled and exploring their new home and we just got busy.  Hubby and I were in the process of planning a trip and had considered a number of different destination like a Caribbean cruise, an all-inclusive Dominican resort or maybe even Cuba.  We hadn't made any solid plans yet when I stubbled upon a number of pictures of Brent, Joy and their awesome kiddo's.  I said to hubby "hey we should go visit our friends for our vacation"  we chatting about it for a bit and sent an email to see if they would like some company.  It was that easy, who needs a vacation somewhere warm when you can go spend some time with old friends.
We were so lucky to have wonderful weather... weather that was not typical for this time of year, it was so warm the kids had their bikes out and were playing in the warm sun in shorts.  We kept ourselves busy with different actives throughout the week. I can't wait to share more pictures of our adventure to New Brunswick, so come back tomorrow.

  1. I'm glad you got to visit your friend! Fredericton is my favorite city. I lived there for three years when I first left home and it'll always feel kind of like home to me. Beautiful city. Can't wait to see more pictures.
